Case Size:
The standard sizes shown in the table custom models sizes are available or we can provide any fabricated dimensions you may require. In calculating total case sizes, note that the covers are 0.063 inches thick (typical) and should be subtracted from the total height of the case. Also, if standard Modpak connectors are used the minimum case height is 0.75 inches.
Covers:
All standard covers are 0.063 inches thick and are normally 0.040″ less than the case dimension. Standard mounting is provided via rivnut standoffs which have a tapped bottom for 4-40 hardware. Covers that extend beyond the ends of the unit are available when clearance hole mounting is desired.
Feedthrus:
Plain Teflon type (1.8PF) or the filter type (5,000PF). Other types can be supplied as required.
Connectors:
Female type N, TNC, BNC, or SMA Connectors with the unique Modpak mounting system or any special connectors you may require.
Holes:
Our machine shop can provide all types of machined, punched, or milled holes including our standard double “D” holes for Modpak connectors, 5-hole patterns for flange-mount connectors, etc.
Finish:
All units are plated with nickel per MIL-QQN-290 as standard practice. We can supply other finishes including iridite and anodize.
Groove Pins:
To support large PC boards or when additional grounding points may be needed, Modpak offers the option of adding groove pins to your custom unit. A groove pin is a 0.062 inch diameter steel dowel pin which is pressed into the sides walls of the unit. Groove pins are available in 1/4″ and 5/8″ lengths.
RFI Gasketing:
Gaskets are available for all standard size cases. Special sizes can be provided up to 6 inches wide.
